We sat today on a picnic bench, enjoying the oddly warm weather today.  As usual, I can’t wait too long to see exacty what I shot and together, Tuvia and I checked out my photos at the Hudson, at Hook Mountain and this is our drop-dead favorite.

What a day to be outside and hosting my favorite Aunt Sally and cousin Elaine. Perfect!

My mom, my Aunt Sally, together this weekend because my cousin Elaine is back home from her work in Hong Kong, commited to her parents to help them when they need her.

She traveled with her mom to see my mom and her other sister, gilda, very unpopular.

Last night we rode up to see them together.  My mom has faded a great deal and is not the mom I remember. Sally is more Sally.  Still.  Aging, watching frailty enter is hard to watch.

Driving home from our HVWP’s Saturday Seminar today and I had to pull over and look up with my camera in hand, right into the sun and I captured the popcorn cotton. Amazing!

We walked this morning at the Lake. We have lakes, we have THE RIVER. How lucky! And this is the ONE for today.  Lots of choose from but this one, the scene,the colors, won.

At least in early November I can find something exciting about the end of fall, the return of the Hudson.  For a brief 30 mintues the sun appeared and with my camera out and ready to click, here’s what I captured.

Wecome back Hudson River. I’ve missed you!

It was cold, it was sunless and there were few people walking in the streets of Nyack, but with warm bellies filled with Strawberry Place waffles, strawberries and scrambled eggs, we made it work and it worth it.

The Mall tonight was filled with kids and adults in costume for Halloween.  The parking lot wasn’t jammed with cars but inside the place was filled with energy.

We were there for a movie, A Serious Man and then dinner.  The small theater was packed with people not celebrating the holiday.

BORING flim. Great dinner and we were no longer holiday participants.

I unpacked, settled in, and watched the sun dim and just before it disappeared, even in my pj bottoms, I raced outside with my camera to capture more of the fall I returned home for.

I don’t know if this photo truly catures the moment of fall that I loved yesterday.  I think I needed the feel of the air, the smells of late October, but the look, I think I got it!

I am back home. The plane gently brought us down early, before the customs desks were ready to officially welcome us. But by 5 we had all our luggage and we were warm enough to move out into the darkness. Is Day LIght Savings Time coming soon?

We had a taxi and he was master of the highway and by 5:30 we were at Tuvia’s drinking coffee. But I was not ready to get into my car and get home.  I needed time to site with Morning Joe and catch up on my computer.

By the time I left for my place, the dark was lighter and it was thrilling to be back in my car, driving home.  In my parking lot, with a great spot close to my building, I took what I needed and balanced the bags and made my walk home with the Hudson closer to its fall/winter appearance.  I was itching to stop and grab a fall shot but I resisted and kept moving with my 3 bags all ready to be unpacked.

But it was fall all around me. Breathing deeply I knew I needed a home photo and here’s the best I can do right now.

So good to be away. So good to be back home.
