No family Chanukah today. Snow and ice are falling on the roads north of Nyack. I was ready to go: dressed, car gased and gifts wrapped. I would be sharing a meal with my parents, brothers, sisters-in-law. No kids around.
I was waiting though for news of forcasted snow and waiting for Tuvia to join me. Both arrived and while I was sadly ready to accept the change in plans Tuvia was not. Everyone was there, food was being cooked, and everyone staring out at the snow and ice falling advised against the trip. Enough for me but NOT Tuiva!
But he did give in and we moved in another direction- back to Strawberry Place for our usual Sunday lunch.
No latkes, just the usual eggs and waffles.
The 3rd Chanukah we have been snowed out.
